Rebecca Blair Price, MFA

Chair of Dance

Rebecca Blair Price graduated from Slippery Rock University with a BA in Dance. She received her MFA in Dance Performance & Choreography from Arizona State University.  Her thesis research focused on implementing somatic practices into the choreographic process. Price has been with Grand Canyon University for over 10 years.  Price takes a somatic approach to dance technique instruction through a relationship with a developed anatomical knowledge and a focus on sensory information.  Price’s aesthetic and choreographic style emphasizes the soma (living body) and physical components of dance.  Her choreography requires her performers demonstrate a wide range of feelings and emotions demonstrated through kinesthetic dynamics.  In addition to teaching, Price is a performer, choreographer, and producer of dance in the Phoenix community.
