ALPHA PSI OMEGA is a national theatre honor society created August 12th, 1925. The Grand Canyon University chapter, known as “Rho Phi,” has been active since April 2013. APO’s purpose is to acknowledge and celebrate the production of high standards and accomplishments in theatre, while also fostering a relationship between fine arts and the world and people whom it impacts.
At GCU, APO helps introduce and involve interested individuals (theatre majors and non) to the world of theatre through volunteering at Ethington Theatre, working with student-led productions, participating in theatrical events and meetings, providing the ability to learn industry standard production skills, and creating a community of service and selflessness to help fuel a better environment on and off campus.
Analyze and assess the current stage of GCU’s Alpha Psi Omega and prepare for expansion towards future goals.
Promote and produce positivity, new theatrical works, opportunities, theatre education, Ethington Theatre shows, CAM events, other GCU club events, and more in the efforts of campus-wide integration and general club growth.
Organize theatre-based events, activities, and community service opportunities and operate as a cohesive and conscientious community of thespians with the goal of spreading the love and joy of theater.
